It can be swapped with any fruit in season producing the same delicious results!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Just adjust the cooking time depending on the fruit so that they have softened nicely.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Try peaches, quince, apples, for a start. I always make extra as you are likely to go back for more than one half of a pear!<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<em>Serves 4-6<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3219\" src=\"http:\/\/journal.bohemiantraders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Bohemian-Traders-Recipe-Shoot_by_Luisa-Brimble_2471.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/journal.bohemiantraders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Bohemian-Traders-Recipe-Shoot_by_Luisa-Brimble_2471.jpg 5707w, https:\/\/journal.bohemiantraders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Bohemian-Traders-Recipe-Shoot_by_Luisa-Brimble_2471-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/journal.bohemiantraders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Bohemian-Traders-Recipe-Shoot_by_Luisa-Brimble_2471-768x535.jpg 768w, https:\/\/journal.bohemiantraders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Bohemian-Traders-Recipe-Shoot_by_Luisa-Brimble_2471-1024x713.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Ingredients<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"s1\">4 pears <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"s1\">2 tbsp maple syrup (plus more for serving if desired)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"s1\">10g butter<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"s1\">1 vanilla bean, split and scraped<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span class=\"s1\">Crumble Topping<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span class=\"s1\">35g unsalted butter, cold and cubed<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span class=\"s1\">40g plain flour<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span class=\"s1\">20g rolled oats<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span class=\"s1\">20g desiccated coconut<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span class=\"s1\">40g soft light brown sugar<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span class=\"s1\">2 tbsp chopped roasted hazelnuts<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Preheat oven to 180 degrees. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Peel and slice the pears in half, remove the core if you have the time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and maple syrup together.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Add the vanilla bean and stir through to combine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Lay the pears out on a lined baking tray and drizzle or brush on the maple syrup mix. Bake for 10 -15 minutes, depending on the ripeness and size of the pears.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">They are ready when soft enough to easily break with a spoon.
