Recipe // Spiced Beer Nuts

The ultimate spicy, salty beer accompaniment. A crowd pleaser in any season! Always necessary and will keep in an airtight container for weeks! Makes 3 cups

Ingredients

1 cup macadamia nuts

1 cup cashews

1 cup almonds

1/2 cup pepita seeds

2 tsp ground cumin

2 tsp smoked paprika

1 and 1/2 tbsp olive oil

2 tsp sea salt flakes

(for an extra spicy kick add a tsp of red pepper flakes)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 140 degrees.
  2. Mix together the spices and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl combine the nuts and seeds. Add the salty spice mix and stir together so that the nuts are well coated with the spice mix.
  4. Line a baking dish with baking paper and pour in the nuts. Spread them so they are evenly spaced and in a single layer.
  5. Roast in the oven for 30-40 minutes.
  6. Turn off the oven but leave the door closed and the nuts in the oven as it cools. This will help them to stay crisp as they cool.
  7. Once cool, transfer to an airtight container or enjoy straight away.
