Recipe // Spiced Beer Nuts
The ultimate spicy, salty beer accompaniment. A crowd pleaser in any season! Always necessary and will keep in an airtight container for weeks! Makes 3 cups
Ingredients
1 cup macadamia nuts
1 cup cashews
1 cup almonds
1/2 cup pepita seeds
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 and 1/2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp sea salt flakes
(for an extra spicy kick add a tsp of red pepper flakes)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 140 degrees.
- Mix together the spices and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl combine the nuts and seeds. Add the salty spice mix and stir together so that the nuts are well coated with the spice mix.
- Line a baking dish with baking paper and pour in the nuts. Spread them so they are evenly spaced and in a single layer.
- Roast in the oven for 30-40 minutes.
- Turn off the oven but leave the door closed and the nuts in the oven as it cools. This will help them to stay crisp as they cool.
- Once cool, transfer to an airtight container or enjoy straight away.
