THE AW23 TRANSEASONAL TREND REPORT

As the seasons change, so do our wardrobes. Embark on a style update as the weather cools – add oversized blazers, pops of colour and staple pieces in classic black to your capsule wardrobe. This season’s fashion lineup is full of versatile options appropriate for every occasion.

Here are some of the top trends to invest in this season.

1. Oversized Blazer

A classic, oversized blazer never goes out of style and will instantly elevate any outfit. Not only is it flattering on all body types, but it can be effortlessly dressed up or down to complement any ensemble. Pair with jeans and a classic white tee for work to weekend, or layer over your favourite dress to elevate the ensemble.

This Autumn, we’re updating our stable of blazers by adding a double-breasted version With its timeless shape, we like it best shrugged on over crisp oversized shirts for the office or paired back with a crewneck cashmere knit and jeans for off-duty days. Buy now and wear it forever—whatever the weather.

2. Must Have Pink

Love it or loathe it, hot pink is here to stay. This vibrant colour is the perfect complement to cold-weather neutrals and can be worn in a variety of ways.

Luxury brands from Valentino to Alexander McQueen have featured magenta on runways and streetscapes this season, and Pantone has just announced that Viva Magenta is the new Colour of the Year, so prepare your wardrobe.

Add swathes of Fuchsia in floor-length maxis or frothy ruffles in daring mini lengths. If pants are more your style, reach for berry-toned flares and double down with a tonal knit.

3. All Black, Everything

Nothing says sophistication like black-on-black. We love how effortless yet considered this timeless combination looks. Simple elegance without ever feeling bored. We look to style muses of bygone eras who made the simplest outfits look chic and timelessly relevant. For AW23, we’re looking for relaxed confidence and reaching for oversized silhouettes with daring hemlines or feminine lace inserts.

4. Refined Denim

Eternally appropriate and always cool –  denim always promises easy Autumn dressing. Keep it casual or elevate the ensemble, either way: don’t overthink it. Yes, you can mix washes and silhouettes at your leisure. However, this season we’re taking the Canadian Tuxedo to new heights and keeping it tonal. Pair classic flares with oversized jackets or layer a cashmere knit and jewel-toned blazer.

5. Florals Are Always Fitting

When it comes to trans-seasonal dressing, florals are always fitting. Reach for floral prints in contrasting colours and balance vibrant patterns with an oversized blazer in a coordinating colour. Complete the look with soft leather loafers and add a bold colour to your bag.

6. Knitwear

Knitwear is a tried-and-true winter staple, but this season, unexpected shapes and colours give it fresh new life. Balance short or billow sleeves with long skirts, dresses or even a transeasonal pair of shorts in neutral tones before grounding the look with on-trend combat boots. Alternatively, shake up your palette with a striking hue such as duck egg blue.

7. How We’re Colour-Blocking Now

Colour-blocking is an effortlessly cool choice and is desperately easy to execute when dressing in a hurry on busy trans-seasonal days. For a dressed-up option, consider Indigo Denim Flares and a crisp striped shirt. Just add a pointed pump, and you’re office ready. On more laidback days, we like the raspberry flare teamed with an oversized shirt.

When it comes to colour blocking, the key is to be bold – mix and match colours and shades. Experiment with unexpected colour combinations to find what works best for you. Remember, confidence is key! (cords and striped shirt combos)
