Recipe // White Sangria Jug
Who doesn’t love a big jug of chilled wine goodness? With the weather warming up a bit and Christmas just around the corner, this recipe is an absolute must! It is fresh and fun, easy as can be and destined to bring a little cheer to the table – whether that table is just you on a Sunday afternoon or the extended family banquet. Makes 6 cups.
Ingredients
1 green apple, sliced
1/2 orange, sliced
1 nectarine, wedged
1 bottle pinot grigio or similar crisp white wine
1/4 cup brandy (or apple brandy – it is delicious)
Mint, a good bunch
Juice of 1 orange
Juice and zest of 1 lime
Angostura Bitters (a few drops to each glass to serve)
Directions
- Layer the fruit over ice in a large jug.
- Pour in the juice and brandy letting it splash around and soak into the fruit.
- Throw in the zest and mint.
- Pour over the wine and give the contents of the jug a good mix.
- Serve in glasses and add a few drops of the Bitters to each glass.
